Benidorm will reward RTVE, Alaska, Máximo Huerta and Don Pancho Hotel on Tourism Day

The City Council will award the 'City of Benidorm' Tourism Awards to RTVE, Olvido Gara -Alaska- and Máximo Huerta, and Hotel Don Pancho, in the International, National and Local/Autonomous categories of these awards, respectively.

This has been agreed by the Board of Spokespersons, who have also decided that the president of the Hosbec, Toni Mayor, receive the Special Mention of these awards, which are expected to be delivered on September 27, coinciding with International Tourism Day. The proposal will be raised to the plenary session next Monday, the 26th.

In this edition of the awards, Benidorm will recognize RTVE for the projection that the Eurovision Song Contest linked to the celebration and success of the Benidorm Fest has meant for the city at an international level. The wake of the Benidorm Fest is also felt in the National category of the awards, in which Olvido Gara and Máximo Huerta stand out, who were presenters of the 3 galas of the contest. Beyond their participation in the Benidorm Fest, both Olvido Gara and Máximo Huerta are "two great prescribers of our city and our destiny", according to Mayor Toni Pérez.

At the local level, the City Council will award the Hotel Don Pacho "one of the most emblematic establishments in the city for the quality of its facilities, its exquisite treatment of customers and its trajectory throughout its 50 years of existence". Pérez has also highlighted that the Don Pancho hotel "is today one of the main hotels in the Valencian Community, holder of numerous awards from tour operators and public and private institutions".

Lastly, Benidorm will also acknowledge the contribution of Toni Mayor Suárez to the expansion of the hotel association Hosbec, which under his presidency has expanded its establishment in the Valencian Community and increased the number of partners. The mayor has remarked that Mayor "has been a firm defender of the Benidorm model, of the compact city, of sun and beach tourism and promoter of collaboration between public administrations and the private sector for the promotion of destinations".
