Benidorm City Council is going to start in the coming weeks the renovation of l'Horta's lighting, which in addition to including the change of the current luminaires for more efficient ones, also plans to eliminate possible dark or lacking lighting spots on the roads in the area, "especially at crossroads, intersections and accesses to homes."

This was explained last night by the Councilor for Public Space and Mobility, Francis Muñoz, during the visit to l'Horta together with the councilor for Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer, and the one for Street Cleaning, Luis Navarro, within the campaign 'A pie de Calle, in which residents of the area participated, to whom the details of this action in lighting were exposed, included in the second phase of the Energy Efficiency Project, financed 50% by the City Council and the Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving (IDAE).

The person in charge of Urban Scene and Mobility indicated that "in addition to informing the residents of the scope of this action to renew LED-type luminaires, last night's meeting has served to learn first-hand about those possible dark spots on the roads and the locations where it is convenient to reinforce the lighting”.

Muñoz thanked the neighbors for their essential assistance, as did the Councilor for Citizen Participation, who stressed that "these 'in situ' meetings allow us to establish direct communication with the neighbors, gather suggestions and learn about the needs of the different neighborhoods of Benidorm, which in the case of l'Horta are different from those of other parts of the city as it is a scattered area and with a particular urban configuration”.

Likewise, he explained that "the 'A pie de Calle' campaign is an initiative that adapts to the time possibilities of the neighbors or the action that is going to be addressed or proposed, as in this case in which, as it is public lighting and to detect possible points with a lack of lighting, we have made an appointment at the end of the afternoon”.

Pellicer pointed out that "we have taken note of all the concerns and demands that the neighbors have conveyed to us, mainly about cleanliness and mobility, and that they are going to be communicated to the corresponding departments to study their feasibility or I know that they are going to be sent to the competent administrations, as the case may be. The mayor advanced that "we have called to see each other in a few months to verify the results of this lighting renovation and progress in the rest of the issues raised."

Among the issues that "we are going to attend to as soon as possible", the Councilor for Urban Scene advanced, are "the clearing of ditches of various roads" and "the replacement of several lampposts that are damaged".
