Benidorm will hire and train 20 young people for a year in the 'T'Avalem' program
Benidorm City Council will hire and train 20 unemployed young people under 30 years of age for a year with the 'T'Avalem Benidorm' project, which this edition will be developed in the administrative branch and in the maintenance of green areas. As explained by the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, "the City Council project has obtained, through LABORA, a subsidy of 501,556.80 euros from the European Social Fund, with which the hiring of the participating people will be financed and that of the teaching team that will be in charge of their training”. In addition, the program has a contribution from the City Council of 60,000 euros.
The councillor indicated that 'T'Avalem' is "a mixed employment and training program, in which, on the one hand, students receive theoretical and practical training and, on the other, they carry out work of public interest applying everything they have learned." Gómez has stressed that "this program is aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 30 and is a great opportunity for people interested in improving their employability or expanding their knowledge in a new specialty."
In the 2023 edition, 10 young people will be trained in 'Auxiliary operations of administrative and general services (code ADGG0408) and in 'Customer relationship administrative activities' (code ADGG0208). The second group will do so in 'Auxiliary activities in plant nurseries, gardens, and garden centers and in 'Installation and maintenance of gardens and green areas'.
During the year of the program, the two groups will receive theoretical training at the 'Pepita Puchades' Employment Training Center and will develop the practical part in municipal buildings, facilities, and public spaces, depending on the needs of the moment.
To participate as a student/participant in 'T'Avalem Benidorm Jove', in addition to being under 30 years of age, it is necessary to be registered as unemployed in the Youth Guarantee program and LABORA with the required training code.
In last year's edition, a dozen young people participated who were trained in revitalization, management, and coordination of free time activities. In the 12 months that they were in 'T'Avalem' they carried out guided tours in the Tossal de la Cala and dynamization activities for the child population in this site and educational centers, and they collaborated with the Summer School organized by the Department of Youth.
