Benidorm will deliver masks to school-age children born between 2003 and 2016
Benidorm City Council is going to deliver masks to school-age children of the city born between 2003 and 2016, both included, the mayor, Toni Pérez, has informed today, after communicating it to the Corporation groups in a Board of Spokespersons. According to the mayor, “yesterday, taking advantage of the seventh installment of the municipal program 'Menjadors a casa', the first nearly 1,000 masks were supplied to school children who are included in the municipal program and next week the distribution among the rest of the school population will be completed "
The mayor explained that "we had been shaping this initiative for several weeks, which has finally been carried out coinciding with the new directive of the Government of Spain that establishes the obligation to use face masks in outdoor spaces and in any closed space for public use or that it is open to the public, where it is not possible to maintain the safety distance of at least two meters ”. This regulation is for children from 6 years old, and it is also recommended for children aged 3 to 5, hence "we have also included the smallest in this distribution of masks." Thus, these protection systems will be provided to Benidorm minors born between 2003 and 2016 ”.
Toni Pérez stressed that “we want our minors to be able to enjoy the maximum safety guarantees on their outings; and above all, that no boy or girl is left without being able to enjoy in the street playing and walking because they lack this protection system ”.
As detailed by the mayor, "for the delivery of masks to the rest of the school population we are going to establish the same collection points that we have been using for the 'Menjadors a casa' program: Casa del Fester, José Llorca Linares social center , Les Caletes Municipal Children's School and CEIP El Murtal, Ausiàs March and Els Tolls ”.
Toni Pérez has advanced that "in the next few days we will report the date of collection of the masks and the collection point assigned to each educational center". Volunteers from the Collective Aid Network (#RAC) will be in charge of distributing these protection systems among the families of the students.
