The file, which has all the favorable technical reports, will be addressed in plenary session on December 19

Benidorm will decide this Monday in a meeting about the specifications for the new cleaning and waste collection contract

13 December 2025
Benidorm

Benidorm City Council will issue its ruling this Monday, December 15, in the Internal Affairs Committee, on the terms and conditions for the new street cleaning and waste collection contract, now that the bidding process is complete and has received all the necessary favourable technical reports. Furthermore, as agreed upon in the Spokespersons' Meeting at the proposal of Mayor Toni Pérez, the tender will be debated and voted on in plenary session on December 19.

As stated in the proposal signed by the Councillor for Street Cleaning, Luis Navarro, the terms and conditions incorporate the guidelines previously issued by the Central Administrative Court. In addition, no objections were received during the public comment period regarding the updated cost structure of the service.

In general terms, the future contract for the collection of municipal solid waste and street cleaning will have a starting bid price of €249.7 million for a 10-year term. This implies that the cost of the service is estimated at around €25 million per year.

According to the document, the cost of the cleaning and waste collection service is estimated at €240.9 million, to which must be added just over €8.7 million for the construction of the logistics base, for which bidding companies must submit a preliminary construction project.

The logistics base will be located on a 20,000-square-meter plot of land ceded for this purpose by the Valencian Regional Government's Digital Transformation Projects Company, within the Terra Mítica Special Urban Development Plan (PEDUI).
