The Councilor for Equality, Paquita Ripoll, opened this afternoon the first LGTBI International Meeting in Benidorm that analyzes the trans reality in Cuba and Spain. After the welcome to the participants, a debate table of analysis of the trans realities in both countries has begun, in which, on the Cuban side, Mariela Castro, director of the National Center of Sexual Education (CENESEX) and Malu Cano, has participated, coordinator of TransCuba. On the Spanish side, Cambrollé, of the Trans Spain Platform; Natalia Aventín, president of the Association of Families of Transsexual Minors (Chrysallis); Toni Poveda, from the State HIV and AIDS Coordinator (CESIDA); Chelo Oliva, from ALGTB Benidorm; Mª José Rodríguez, vice chancellor of Equality of the University of Alicante (UA); and José de Lamo, general director of the Valencian Agency for Equality in Diversity.
The events continued afterwards with the screening of the short film winner of the First Trans Film Festival of Alicante and then the documentary 'El viaje de Carla' and a final debate in which its author, Carla Antonello, deputy of the Assembly of Madrid.
