15 companies benefit from the latest remittance, which amounts to about 171,500 euros
Benidorm solves the TEN grants for hotels that participated in the Holiday Program contract for Senior Citizens (IMSERSO) in the 2019/2020 season
The Local Government Board (JGL) of Benidorm has approved the last remittance of TEN 2021 grant, financed with 486,776 euros from the Provincial Council of Alicante, and in which the hotel establishments that worked with the Imserso 2019/2020 Tourism Program or that have the SICTED Quality distinction have been included.
The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, explained that this remittance amounts to about 171,500 euros and has reached 15 hotel companies in Benidorm that "based on justified expenses, have received aid ranging between 7,227 and 12,000 euros ”.
Gómez recalled that "initially TEN 2021 grants were directed to hospitality, transport, leisure and travel agencies and operators with a workforce of more than 10 workers and up to a maximum of 50". This first phase was resolved with the granting of aid to 24 companies for an amount of 243,258.03 euros.
"Given the existence of a remnant," he added, it was decided to open this aid to other sectors related to tourism and leisure, and more specifically to hotel establishments in the city, a sector that, despite having been clearly affected by the pandemic, has been excluded from almost all calls for aid launched by the competent administrations ”.
Thus, between the two TEN 2021 remittances, benefits have been granted to about 40 local companies for an amount of 414,741.64 euros.
The mayor has detailed that “with the 2021 TEN we complement the aid to the accommodation sector launched by the City Council, to which nearly 1.8 million euros have been allocated and with which 160 mercantile companies dedicated to tourist accommodation of Benidorm, such as hotels, campsites, pensions, hostels, apartments and management companies ”.
