Benidorm muestra a alumnos de los colegios del Salt de l’Aigua las rutas escolares seguras para llegar a sus centros

Students of several courses of Mestre Gaspar López and Gabriel Miró schools have travelled today the so-called safe school road that communicates its educational centers with Els Tolls neighborhood. A path that starts from Italia street and that through the new footbridge located at the end of this road connects with Palau d'Esports and the school area of Salt de l'Aigua, where in recent years Benidorm City Council has created new sidewalks so that students from all the educational complex can walk with all the security guarantees to the centers in which they are enrolled.

The journey through this safe school path has been one of the activities that has been developed throughout the morning within the European Mobility Week, which focuses on Road Safety. Previously, children have gone to the Children's Traffic Park to learn and know closely the basic rules of traffic and road safety explained by the Local Police.

The councilman of Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, indicated that "in the last three years we have acted in the environment of the schools of the city to make the pedestrian transits to the centers much safer". Some actions that "we usually carry out listening to the educational community and attending to their suggestions".

In the Children's Traffic Park students have been accompanied by their teachers and also the Councilor for Mobility; by the councillor of Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez; and by the chief of the Local Police, Juan Fuertes.

De Zárate highlighted "the pedagogical work" that throughout the year is carried out by the Local Police in the Children's Traffic Park, and stressed the importance "of involving the youngest the most important notions of road security, since once learned they are usually reminded of their families, reinforcing among adults the good practices that should be followed when driving a vehicle or when walking as a pedestrian.
