The budget amounts to 10.5 million and a contract duration of five years is established
Benidorm plenary session will approve the tender for the new parks and gardens contract on Monday

The Benidorm City Council plenary session will approve the start of the bidding process for the maintenance contract for the city's parks and gardens next Monday, according to the proposal submitted by the councillor for the department, José Ramón González de Zárate.
The proposal establishes that the base tender budget amounts to €10,578,956.43 and that the expected duration of the service contract is five years, which is considered "the period necessary for the amortisation of all the machinery and vehicles necessary to provide the service," according to the councillor. In this regard, Benidorm's own gardening and cleaning machinery and vehicles, as well as the necessary operating and technical personnel to carry out the work, have been included.
One of the most significant aspects of the new contract is the inclusion of the maintenance of the El Moralet urban park, which represents an increase of 74.44 hectares to the existing area of parks and gardens in the municipality. González de Zárate indicated that the City Council intends to "increase the quality of the maintenance service, promoting the introduction of improvements to the administrative clauses that increase the minimum resources proposed and, in particular, achieve proper maintenance of El Moralet Park."
With the inclusion of El Moralet's green lung in the service, the total area covered by the contract is 1,738,718.59 square meters, compared to just under 830,000 square meters included in the previous contract. Thus, the green spaces targeted for conservation and maintenance are urban parks, landscaped areas, street trees, planters, floral structures, public schools, street green spaces, temporary gardening work, peri-urban parks, landscaping of all sports areas, and other municipal areas equipped and designated as green spaces, including the two municipal cemeteries.
Among the resolutions that the plenary session will adopt on Monday is the approval of an expenditure of €685,904.05, which would be used to pay for the last four months of this year once the service has been awarded.
Regarding the award criteria, the contracting committee will score a maximum of 45 points for quality criteria "with value judgment evaluation" and a maximum of 55 for criteria with mathematical evaluation. In this section, the annual amount allocated to investments will be valued at a maximum of 12.50 points; the pool of hours for the maintenance of El Moralet will have a maximum score of 7.50 points, and the economic offer submitted by companies may reach a maximum of 35 points.
