With the arrival of June, Benidorm City Council has opened the two beach libraries located in Poniente, thus adding to the one located on Levante Beach and which is operational all year round. The acting Councilor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez, recalled that "Benidorm was a pioneer in the creation and commissioning of beach libraries, a resource that is in significant demand, which improves the beach experience for the users of our beaches and which it provides a space for reading that also operates as a meeting place”.

The Levante beach library is located at the junction of Madrid and Europa avenues: while in Poniente there is one next to Paseo de Colón and another on Vicente Llorca Alós Avenue, very close to the intersection with Aigües Street.

Between June 1 and October 31, the three beach libraries are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and have an extensive catalog of books, newspapers, and magazines. In the case of the Levante beach library, where most international users are concentrated, you can find bibliographic and press in several languages.

Gómez explained that "the Levante beach library is operational all year except the period from January 15 to February 15, the date on which all the furniture is removed from the beaches for cleaning in more depth of the sandbanks and turning over all the sand to facilitate its natural disinfection ”.

The councilor highlighted that “Benidorm's beaches have certificates of excellence and quality both for their environmental value and for the services they offer to users, such as the prestigious Q for Quality; services among which are our beach libraries”.
