A silent rally to which public workers and neighbors have joined.
The victim, a 50-year-old woman, was murdered with a knife yesterday in the town of Algarinejo (Granada) by her partner, who later committed suicide. She is the second victim of sexist violence so far in 2022
With this second crime of 2022, there are already 1,128 women victims of sexist violence since 2003, the year in which deaths began to be counted. The Department of Equality recalls that the City Council has personnel specialized in gender violence available to any woman who feels threatened. Likewise, it insists that victims can use the free 016 telephone number, which leaves no trace on the telephone bill, although it is advisable to eliminate it from the call log of mobile devices. The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and in 52 languages.
