The Councilor for Innovation highlights the correlation of the S3 Strategy with DTI Roadmap of Benidorm City Council
Benidorm hosts a REDIT Summit 2021 conference on smart specialization
The Councilor for Innovation Aida García Mayor has opened Summit 2021 conference this morning with which the Network of Technological Institutes of the Valencian Community is bringing the Smart Specialization Strategy closer to town councils, from a regional orbit.
Representatives from Hosbec, Invattur, CDT, Hidraqua, the Technological Institute of Energy, the Technological Institute of Leisure (AIJU), Aico, Jovempa, Smart Tourism and Villajoyosa Fishermen's Association were summoned to Benidorm session.
García Mayor has highlighted the importance of the components of the S3 Strategy, Smart, Specialization & Strategy, which are the basis of Benidorm's DTI commitment and are included in the Roadmap that Benidorm follows since it was certified as the first DTI in 2018 in the world under the UNE 178501 standard.
She highlighted the councilor "the commitment to sustainability, which Benidorm has been in its DNA for six and a half decades" betting on "Sustainable, Intelligent and Innovative growth to which days like this contribute a lot and well". García Mayor encouraged "everyone to follow the path of Benidorm" which has developed an area of Innovation and Quality to manage all the Innovation applied by the DTI Master Plan from the consistory "under the postulates of the 2030 Agenda and the principles of the SDGs , standing out under the SDG17, we are committed to alliances to achieve the objectives.
The session has addressed in depth the S3 strategy in the Valencian Community, its competitiveness component with an enriching subsequent debate.
The director of REDIT, Gonzalo Belenguer has pointed out the opportunities that the S3 Strategy of the European Union offers us for the future and the interest of the network in which the City Councils, associations and entities get closer to innovation seeking, rather than debating the future, secure the legacy.
The Regional Secretary for Innovation and Digital Transformation, Jordi Juan, pointed out that the Department of Innovation and Universities intends to change the production model using innovation as a lever, having as support the Technological Institutes of the Valencian Community and that through the S3 Strategy , in conferences such as Benidorm -which have already been held in Alzira, Sagunto, Gandía and Alicante, with others being scheduled this year in Castellón, Villarreal and Alcoi- the bases are laid to expose the S3 strategic framework and the possibility of access to European funds to launch initiatives and applications in innovation that have an impact on sustainability.
Juan pointed out that through REDIT leadership initiatives are being developed through its so-called Lab and that Benidorm has all the components to lead the Tourism Lab.
The S3 Strategy includes 11 countries of the European Union where 134 regions operate the premise of betting on smart specialization.
