Thousands of fans of this specialty come together in the Parque de Foietes and El Moralet to encourage cyclists
Benidorm hosts the 'I Carrera CX' for all categories on the day before the World Cup
Bicycles of all kinds have taken to the streets of Benidorm during this weekend in which a Cyclocross World Cup event will be held tomorrow, Sunday, which will run through the Parque de Foietes and El Moralet and which will feature the first swords specialty worldwide.
Today, prior to the big event, the I Carrera CX Benidorm was held, in which several hundred cyclists of all categories from all over Spain and nearby countries such as Portugal took part.
With a spectacular atmosphere, all the tests started, in the morning and afternoon, which have been continuously monitored by the fans, who filled the route to cheer on the athletes.
In total, 16 categories have been disputed, from promises and beginners to Master 60. The awarding of medals has been divided into two parts. At noon, with the presence of the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, there was a ceremony for the races that were held in the morning, and the rest were delivered in the afternoon.
Tomorrow the day begins at 8.30 with official training. An hour later the men's youth race will start. At 10.30 the female youth will do it.
Official training will return again at 11:20 a.m. and at 12 noon the men's under 23 race will begin. At 1:00 p.m. the official training sessions return and from 1:40 p.m. the main course of the day begins. First with the Elite Women's race and at 3:10 p.m. the climax with the Elite Men's race with the best in the world in contention.
