Benidorm City Council has launched a line of aid aimed at local entities that work for equality, carrying out activities of comprehensive care for women, prevention of gender violence and promotion of women's associations. The Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, has indicated that "following the strategies included in the Municipal Plan for Gender Equality, we reissue these grants to continue collaborating with the Benidorm associations that work precisely to achieve one of the objectives included in this document. , such as promoting personal development and the participation of women in decision-making and social processes”.

For this call, 15,000 euros have been reserved and local entities in the field of equality that have been registered in the Registry of Associations of the City Council for at least six months, and whose headquarters are open to the public, can participate. Each of the entities will be eligible for a maximum aid of 3,000 euros.

Zaragozí explained that "for this year's call, we have expanded the areas of action and the type of eligible activities and projects to attend to the largest possible number of associations, aware, moreover, that equality is a cross-cutting issue and that It can be approached and promoted from very diverse spheres”.

According to the bases, approved by the Local Government Board and published yesterday in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP), for example, activities focused on the prevention and eradication of gender violence will be eligible; the training and/or promotion of employment of women, especially those who are in a situation of special vulnerability; promoting self-employment and women's entrepreneurship; actions aimed at breaking traditional gender roles and stereotypes; activities aimed at research, training, information and awareness on gender inequalities; or training actions on gender equality, domestic co-responsibility and conciliation of personal, family and work life.
