Benidorm once again hosts Miguel Hernández University Experience Classrooms for over 55s

The dependencies of José Llorca Linares Social Center will again host the classes of the Classrooms of Experience (Aunex) of the Miguel Hernández University from next October 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The course will end on May 11.

The number of places is 50 students and the registration fee established by Miguel Hernández University for the full course is 110 euros.

The Classrooms of Experience is an educational project framed in the Comprehensive Program for the Elderly of the UMH that began in 1999 with the aim of meeting the educational demand and promoting culture and improving the quality of life of people over 55 years of age. through an educational program taught by university professors.

Benidorm has been the headquarters of this project since the year of its creation and, once again, the City Council has agreed with the UMH on the continuity of the Aunex for the 2022-23 academic year coordinated by the Department of Social Welfare. The only requirement to access is to be over 55 years old and no previous studies are required.

The academic year consists of seven subjects of 15 hours each and is completed with a series of seminars that extend the content taught until the end of May next year. The subjects have theoretical and practical content and the material will be delivered by the teaching staff directly or via email.

The subjects that will be taught this year are Wetlands and natural spaces, sociology, history of chemistry, criminology, political economy, memory and law and justice. At the end of the course, students will receive a certificate of achievement, for attendance.

Those who cannot do it from their homes can go to the Department of Social Welfare on Calle Pintor Lozano on the 28th and 30th of this month and on October 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help them enrol. To do this they must provide an ID and bank card associated with the mobile phone application to make the payment.
