Benidorm extends the prize award to 500 euros in the 27th Window Dressing Competition and the registration period

Benidorm City Council has increased the amount of the prize award to 500 euros that will be given to all participating establishments in the 27th Christmas Window Dressing Contest, and has extended the registration period until 11:59 pm on December 13th. This has been reported today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, after the Local Government Board (JGL) has approved modifying the bases of the call, which is framed within the latest measures to support the local productive fabric and with "which at the same time we promote and energize the Christmas atmosphere in our city ”.

Toni Pérez recalled that "we are going to allocate one million euros to the prizes of this Window Dressing Contest, so the amount of the prize for participants will vary, depending on the final number of participants, between 350 and 500 euros". In addition to this prize for participating in the Contest, and as in previous years, three prizes of 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euros for the first, second and third positions respectively will be awarded to the establishments with the best Christmas decorations; a decision to be taken by a jury appointed by the Department of Commerce led by Lorenzo Martínez after assessing aspects such as image, lighting, originality, creativity, color and the use of Christmas decoration.

All shops, hotel establishments and hotels in Benidorm that have a valid municipal opening license for the development of their activity can participate in this call. The Christmas lighting and ornamentation must be on display, at least, until January 6.

The mayor has indicated that "we have decided to extend the registration period to facilitate and encourage the participation of establishments in the city", which can be completed until December 13 through the email shop2020@benidorm.org.

Likewise, and as already mentioned weeks ago, Toni Pérez has pointed out that “these newly created prize for all participants will also allow us to reach commercial or hospitality establishments that, even having suffered the effects of the pandemic, have not been able to access to the multiple aids launched by the Benidorm City Council or to those generated at the time by the Regional Goverment and the State, due to having debts contracted with any Administration ”.
