Benidorm extends to August 20 the deadline to request direct aid to nightlife

04 August 2021
Benidorm amplía al 20 de agosto el plazo para solicitar las ayudas directas al ocio nocturno

The deadline to request municipal aid to minimize the impact of Covid-19 in the nightlife sector is extended until Friday, August 20. The councillor of Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, has indicated that considering that the natural term was ten days and that the will is "to reach the largest number of companies and self-employed in the sector through this line of aid", This extension of the term has been proposed to the Local Government Board, which after its approval will be published both in the Official Gazette of the Province and on the municipal website.
The councilor recalled that this call provides for aid of up to 3,000 euros per establishment and is financed through a grant from the Alicante Provincial Council of about 300,000 euros.
Gómez has insisted on encouraging companies and freelancers in the nightlife sector to participate in a line of aid with which the Benidorm City Council “wants to help minimize the effects that the pandemic is causing on this nightlife sector at a time like the current one ”in which measures and restrictions are in force from the Generalitat Valenciana.
As has been reported, SMEs, micro-SMEs and self-employed persons in the sector with fiscal domicile in Benidorm and who "between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021 have reduced the monthly average billing by at least 25% compared to the monthly average of 2019 ”.
The grants can be requested and processed until 11:59 p.m. next Friday, August 20, through the municipal Electronic Office, https://sede.benidorm.org, where the full content of the bases can also be consulted.
From the Department it is recalled that, broadly speaking, the bases establish that companies or freelancers who have a valid municipal opening license and are registered in one of the following sections can apply for this direct help: 1.2.5. / 2.7.1. / 2.7.2. / 2.7.3. / 2.7.4. / 2.7.6.
The eligible items for these grants include expenses such as the self-employed fee, the monthly rent for the establishment, advisory and consultancy expenses and those related to energy, water, telephone, internet, security or equipment maintenance contracts. Also, those related to loans for the acquisition of the business premises, its insurance, or those derived from the rental or acquisition of vehicles 100% related to the activity.
