The Local Governing Board of Benidorm City Council has approved a new call for applications for the grants that the Department of Employment and Local Promotion launches annually to help cover the labour and operating costs of businesses and/or entrepreneurs in Benidorm. The City Council will allocate a total of €56,000 for this call, as announced by the councillor for the department, Mónica Gómez, who indicated that applicant entities can apply for a maximum grant of €8,000 to be used for hiring staff.

Through this call, “we want to help businesses maintain their staff, primarily administrative personnel, so they can continue providing support services to companies operating in Benidorm or to those starting a new business,” the councillor emphasised. This grant will be included in the Strategic Grant Plan for the current fiscal year.

As established in the call for applications, non-profit business associations in Benidorm with a permanent, active, and publicly accessible establishment or premises, and which carry out activities supporting entrepreneurs and businesses in the city, are eligible for these grants. Mónica Gómez also explained that the grant amount received by each entity will be used to cover the costs of the association's own staff hired to perform management and administrative functions.

As in previous years, applications must be submitted electronically through the Electronic Office (https://sede.benidorm.org). The application period began on Monday, April 27, and will end on October 31, 2026. The grant awarded is compatible with other subsidies, income, or resources for the same purpose from any public or private administration.

Gómez pointed out that “we have always considered employment to be the best social policy that can be promoted and implemented.” Therefore, “one of the lines of action of the Local Employment and Promotion Agency is the promotion of employment and support, whether through direct actions or through calls for aid such as these, with which we support business associations whose members, in turn, generate employment.”
