Benidorm establishes a special preventive device for the finals of the Europa League and the Champions

Benidom will count today and on Saturday with a special device in the leisure area of ​​Rincón de Loix facing the finals of the Europa League and the Champions League football, in which English teams play. The acting councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, explained that "the police device and the special measures that accompany it were profiled last Monday at a meeting held in the Sub-delegation of the Government."

Martínez has indicated that the device is established from 18:00 to 02:00 hours and "has a preventive character", since its function is to "be able to anticipate any behavior that may occur at a given time in public roads and spaces, thus ensuring that the hobbies can enjoy the meetings and that in the city there are no incidents or setbacks ".

This afternoon, on the occasion of the final of the Europa League between Chelsea and Arsenal, a reinforcement of troops of the Local Police and also of the National Police is planned, which includes a Prevention and Response Unit (UPR). On Saturday, in addition to the reinforcement of Local Police, a Police Intervention Unit (UIP) of the National Police Corps will be moved to Benidorm, so there will be around a hundred agents.

In addition, during the celebration of both parties traffic will be cut at the confluences of Gerona and the Philippines streets, and in Cuenca with Lepanto. Once the meetings are over and as the streets clear, traffic will reopen.

As special measures it is also planned to remove elements from the terraces and serve the drinks in plastic containers. In addition, containers located in the area will proceed to be removed from the public road.
