Benidorm dismisses Fallas 2017 with the 'Cremà' of the monuments

20 March 2017
Benidorm despide las Fallas 2017 con la Cremà de los monumentos

The flames have put an end this last dawn to the Fallas 2017. The six monuments in Benidorm, three of children category and three adults, have succumbed to the fire in a night of San José that, as usual, has congregated to hundreds of people who have wanted to live up close to the magic of La Cremà.

The first to burn, at 11 pm, have been the children's monuments of the three commissions: Rincón de Loix, Centro and Els Tolls. Minutes earlier, Naiara Pérez, from Falla Rincón, chose the 'ninot indultat' to save it from the flames, and Verónica Buján and Teresa Peris did the same in the monuments of the Center and Els Tolls.

With the arrival of midnight, has begun the Cremà of the great monument of Rincón de Loix. accompanied by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; and the president of the Local Board Fallera, Daniel Masip; The major fallera of the commission, Tania Rico, has lit the fuse that in a matter of minutes has caused the fire to seize the monument planted in Atmella del Mar Avenue.

Half an hour later, the official entourage - which also included the councilman of Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez; several councilors of the corporation and members of the Fallera Local Board - has moved to the Triangular square to attend the Cremà monument that won the first prize. With the watchful eye of the fallera, Natalia Buján, the monument has gradually been consumed until reduced to ashes.

At 0100 hours, and also with a large public, the Cremà of the last monument has started, Els Tolls. With the melody of the passodoble 'El Fallero', flames have been devouring the 'ninots' , sculptures ,of this monument located in Tomás Ortuño street. As tradition dictates and while fire engulfed the figures, the fallera, Fátima Carrobles, has walked around the monument with the members of the commission. A fire ritual with which Benidorm has dismissed Fallas of 2017, the first of this fiesta as Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
