Benidorm condemns the last sexist crime, the sixth so far this year

Benidorm condena el último crimen machista, el sexto en lo que va de año

Benidorm has condemned today the last sexist crime that occurred last Saturday in the town of A Pastoriza (Lugo) and has observed a minute of silence for the victim, a 79-year-old woman allegedly murdered by her 82-year-old husband, who after beating her until cause him death killed himself. Members of the Municipal Corporation, with the Mayor Toni Pérez and the councillor of Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, at the head; Municipal workers and neighbors have concentrated this noon to show their rejection of this new case of gender violence that raises 6 women killed in Spain since the beginning of the year.

The Department of Equality remind all women who are suffering from any type of harassment, who can go for free to municipal services. Also, the utility of the helpline for victims is 016, which serves 52 languages, has no cost, and is not reflected in the telephone bill, although it is advisable to delete it, after use, from the registry of calls.
