Benidorm closes the XXXI International Music Competition, in which a hundred students have participated

The International Music Competition closed its 31st edition last night, in which nearly a hundred students participated, 45 of them from the Municipal Conservatory of Music 'José Pérez Barceló' of Benidorm. The closing ceremony, chaired by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, also served to deliver the awards of the XXI Music Contest, which this year has been developed in the modality of cello and in which the young Julia Tripodo has been imposed . Accompanied at the piano by Belén González, Tripodo was in charge of opening the closing concert in the Assembly Hall of the City Council.

A concert that was completed with the performances of several teachers of the Course, such as the cellist Michal Dmochowski, and the saxophist Jenis Michat with the pianist Stefanos Spanopoulos; and to the one that in addition to the councilman of Culture attended several members of the municipal corporation.

During the closing ceremony, the Councilor for Culture remarked that the Benidorm Music Course and Contest "have become a benchmark" with which the city initiates "the cultural summer", and in which "students arrived from countries like the United States, Italy, Poland, Switzerland and England and also from different parts of Spain have shared music and experiences for several days ". A student body that comes to Benidorm "attracted by the quality and demand" of the Course, through which successive editions have passed different generations of musicians in the city and that year after year has a staff of first level teachers.

Specifically, the teachers of this edition have been: Michal Dmochowski, cello professor at Jacinto Guerrero Professional Conservatory of Music in Toledo and assistant professor at Reina Sofia School of Music; Angel Sanzo, piano teacher at the Superior Music Conservatory of Badajoz and Alfonso X University of Madrid; Jean-Denis Michat, professor of saxophone at Lyon Regional Conservatory; Benidoro Ricardo Llorca, professor of composition at Juilliard School and the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute in New York. The winner of the 2008 edition of Benidorm Music Contest, Adán Delgado, has been the trumpet teacher.

In addition to sharing classrooms and training, during the five days of the Course, teachers and students have offered free concerts open to the general public every night.
