Benidorm City Council will have technical support assistance for EDUSI

10 September 2019
El Ayuntamiento de Benidorm contará con asistencia técnica de apoyo a la EDUSI

Benidorm City Council will carry out the contracting of a technical support assistance to undertake the technical and administrative processing of the projects contemplated in the Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development (EDUSI) both before the State Administration and the European Union .

The City Council won a grant for EDUSI to be developed in immediate years. The initiative consists in being able to undertake the entire processing complex in this year so that in 2020 they can be sent to tender, project and execute the main projects programmed in the Bullring, Sèquia Mare and Mediation and Employment centers, as well as in proposals of accessibility and mobility in the neighborhoods Alfredo Corral, Els Tols and Colonia Madrid.

The Councilor for Public Space, Mobility and Universal Accessibility, José Ramón González de Zárate has indicated that "this initiative of the Corporation energizes the entire EDUSI and will materialize work on the street with important actions for the benefit of citizens."

The Department of Contracting has raised the award of seventy-two thousand euros, plus VAT, on a contract that triples that amount and will have co-financing, 50%, of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the Multiregional Operational Program of Spain 2014-2020 (POPE).

Benidorm City Council won a grant of ten million euros to invest in five years in projects that total investments amounting to twenty-three million euros.

The EDUSI Development Strategy leads us, as Mayor Toni Pérez pointed out, to “an essential city project” to make “Benidorm more sustainable, more efficient and more inclusive, thus improving the quality of life” of residents and tourists. It is a transversal strategy that has taken into account the city itself, as an element of interaction of all residents, recovering and energizing very specific areas of the city, seeking to improve social and economic aspects.
