Benidorm celebrates Saint Patrick’s Day by lighting up the City Hall, Castell and Tossal in green colour
On the occasion of the celebration of Saint Patrick's Day, the patron saint of Ireland, on March 17, a festivity of great roots in the British colony of Benidorm and which has been commemorated in the city for decades, the City Council will illuminate three of its most emblematic buildings: El Castell, El Tossal de la Cala and the town hall building.
Due to the health crisis caused by Covid-19, Saint Patrick’s Day will not draw large crowds. Not thousands of citizens of the United Kingdom, nor of Ireland have travelled to the city to concentrate on the most tourist areas, as is traditional. There are no scheduled events, but with the hope of a speedy return to normality, the City Council wants to encourage citizens, and especially those from the British Isles, with the color that represents hope and the Irish saint in the most representative enclaves of Benidorm.
