Students of the IES Pere Maria Orts i Bosch expose in the Espai d'Art the vision of the youngest before this social scourge

Benidorm begins the commemoration of the International Day against Gender Violence

21 November 2017
Benidorm da comienzo a la conmemoración del Día Internacional contra la Violencia de Género

The first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer, and the mayor of Equality, Paquita Ripoll, along with representatives of the municipal groups, have placed this morning a banner on the main balcony of the consistorial building with the slogan 'Benidorm against gender violence' . This was the first of the events scheduled by the City to commemorate the International Day against Gender Violence that is celebrated around the world next Saturday, November 25.

After noon, a display of posters, made by the students of the IES Pere Maria Orts i Bosch to denounce violence against women, in which Paquita Ripoll has intervened, was inaugurated in the Espai d'Art in the hall of the City Hall. "The fact that the youngest people participate," the councilor said, "raising their voices against this social scourge, is an act of fundamental importance because in them is the change towards a more just and egalitarian society."

The exhibition is composed of a dozen posters made by high school students of the Benidoro center. At the opening, the students have been tucked away by members of the corporation and some of their professors. Precisely, Paquita Ripoll thanked the center for the collaboration with the Department giving them a duplicate of the posters so "that they can make the exhibitions they consider appropriated."
