Both the DTI management and the tourist offices renew their 'Q' for Tourist Quality, which is awarded annually by ICTES
The beaches and the Tourist Info of El Torrejó obtain the 'S' for Sustainability
Benidorm's beaches have renewed the ‘S’ mark for Sustainable Tourism, a distinctive of the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality and Sustainability (ICTES) that guarantees compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in terms of management and provision of tourist services. A distinctive that this year for the first time has also been obtained by the tourist information office of El Torrejó, and which is added to the ‘Q’ recognition of Quality also granted to the tourist offices and the management system of the Intelligent Tourist Destination (DTI) by the UNE 178501 standard.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, received this last distinction yesterday from the hands of the president of the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, and the president of the ICTES, Pedro Mirones, during the Q Night, organized by the organization at the Palacio de Cristal de Cibeles in Madrid.
Toni Pérez stressed that “these awards, which are achieved by meeting very demanding criteria and standards of excellence, confirm the quality of our services, resources and attention while being a guarantee for the people who visit us and also for the residents.”
“And they also recognise the work that the City Council and Visit Benidorm, always with the collaboration of the private initiative, have been developing to consolidate and improve the management of the destination from the tourist intelligence, pivoting on the axes of sustainability, accessibility, innovation, technology and governance, and complying with the criteria of the UNE 178501 standard in whose deployment and implementation we were pioneers.”
Also on Q Night, ICTES awarded the hotel association Hosbec, becoming the first Spanish business association certified with the ‘Q’ and the ‘S’ in recognition of its “commitment” to “Quality and Sustainable Tourism.” An award that, in addition, “aims to be a sign of support for the companies, workers and citizens of the Valencian Community” in the face of the consequences of the Dana. The president of Hosbec, Fede Fuster, was in charge of collecting both certifications.
