The artistic lighting illuminates the start of the Major Festivities
At 6:00 pm this afternoon, the queens of the Festes Majors Patronals Benidorm 2017, Anna Galiana and Ángela Antón, clicked on the lighting button that announces its big festivity in Benidorm.
On the stage located on Martínez Alejos street, the maximum representatives of the fiestas and their courts of honor have been accompanied by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; the councillors Ana Pellicer, José Ramón González de Zárate, Lorenzo Martínez and Arturo Cabrillo; the presidents of the Comissió and of the Association of Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge', Antonio Vicente Fuster and Mariano Nájera; the mayorales of 2017 and a lot of public. With this act, the festivities that officially start tomorrow will start informally.
Minutes later, the 'xirimita' and the 'tabal' have marked the passage towards the nearby Via Emilio Ortuño to inaugurate the 'Porrat' with samples of typical products and crafts. Here the queens and their courts have tasted hot chocolate and churros.
The festivities continued after the visit of the jury of the Streets, Neighborhoods and Rocks Contest, organized by the Comissió and tonight, from 22:30 the 'Entrada of Peñas' will take place, one of the most multitudinous events of the Festes Majors Patronals in Benidorm.
