The mayor and the employment councilor encourage them to "take advantage of this opportunity to find a job opportunity" during the visit to Pepita Puchades center
About twenty young people are trained in gardening and administrative services assistant with 'T'Avalem Benidorm' project
About twenty young people are training in administrative services and maintenance of green areas thanks to the 'T'Avalem Benidorm' project, through which Benidorm City Council hires and trains them for a year.
The activity of those hired, unemployed young people under 30 years of age, began at the end of April at the Pepita Puchades Training Center for Employment. This morning they received a visit from the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Employment, Mónica Gómez, who encouraged them to take advantage of this opportunity to find a job opportunity.
The City Council project has obtained, through LABORA, a subsidy of 501,556.80 euros from the European Social Fund, which finances the hiring of the participating people and of the teaching team that will be in charge of their training. The program also has a municipal contribution of 60,000 euros.
The mayor recalled during the visit that 'T'Avalem' is "a mixed employment and training program, in which, on the one hand, the students receive theoretical and practical training and, on the other, carry out work of public interest applying everything they have learned".
Pérez stressed that "this program is aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 30 and represents a great opportunity to improve their employability or broaden their knowledge in a new specialty." "That is why we have encouraged them to apply themselves thoroughly in this training, to take advantage of the opportunity, so that it can be useful for their future working life" he added.
In the 2023 edition, ten young people are being trained in 'Auxiliary operations of administrative and general services (code ADGG0408) and in 'Customer relationship administrative activities' (code ADGG0208). The second group does so in 'Auxiliary activities in nurseries, gardens and garden centers' and in 'Installation and maintenance of gardens and green areas'.
During the year of the program, the two groups receive theoretical training at the 'Pepita Puchades' center itself, and the practical part will be carried out in municipal buildings, facilities, and public spaces, depending on the needs of the moment.
In last year's edition, a dozen young people participated who were trained in revitalization, management, and coordination of free time activities. In the 12 months that they were in 'T'Avalem' they carried out guided tours in Tossal de la Cala and dynamization activities for the child population in this site and educational centers, and they collaborated with the Summer School organized by the Department of Youth.
