The number of beneficiaries in this fourth edition amounts to 65,847, 2,307 more than in the previous one
330 establishments in Benidorm have already joined the '#BenidormTeDaMás' consumer voucher campaign that starts on Friday
Benidorm City Council is finalizing all the details for the launch of the fourth edition of the '#BenidormTeDaMás' consumer bonuses, a campaign that will run from this Friday, December 15, until Sunday, December 31, and as of today it already has 330 participating establishments.
This was announced this Wednesday by the city's mayor, Toni Pérez, who pointed out that this high number of establishments that have already confirmed their participation "predicts that we could be facing a record campaign."
The first mayor recalled that the local Administration has enabled an economic item that amounts to 2,097,278 euros to launch this new edition, of which 1,450,000 euros correspond to municipal funds and 647,278 euros are a contribution from the Provincial Council of Alicante. Likewise, he recalled that the city “was a pioneer” in the implementation of these bonds in December 2021 “at a time when it was necessary to generate economic activity and help families” and that the formula adopted “demonstrated its effectiveness in achieving that double objective and that is why it has been replicated in many places, although with certain differences.”
In this sense, he recalled that the great particularity of '#BenidormTeDaMás' “is its universality, because all people registered in the city on December 1, 2023, and who are over 18 years of age on the 31st can benefit from this campaign. This month", which means that "there is no campaign like this in any other municipality in Spain."
Specifically, in this edition, there will be a total of 65,847 citizens who can download the bonuses, 2,307 more than those who were beneficiaries in the last edition. According to the mayor, this increase responds to the fact that "Benidorm is gaining population because it is an attractive city to live in and a clear reference for what we could define as 'filled-in Spain', attracting new registered residents who are also first-class citizens for this mayor. and this government team” and that, “if they meet the required requirements, they will also be able to use their bonuses.”
Regarding the dynamics of the campaign itself, Toni Pérez highlighted that the operation will be the same as in previous editions. In this way, each registered person will have at their disposal five vouchers of 10 euros each, which can be exchanged in participating businesses, establishments and services. Each of these vouchers can be used as a discount on purchases and drinks equal to or greater than 20 euros, from 9 a.m. this Friday, the 15th, and with a deadline of 11:59 p.m. on December 31, The economic impact on the business fabric would at least double the 2,097,278 euros invested by the City Council. However, and taking figures from previous editions as a reference, the mayor is confident in “being able to achieve a return of 3 euros for every euro invested.”
The same operation is followed to obtain the bonuses, as in the rest of the editions, and they can be downloaded online or in person. For the first formula, the user must register and re-register on the website www.bonobenidormtedamas.es. Once registration is complete, you can request your vouchers from there or download them in PDF format and print them if you wish. Also, once registered on the website, the beneficiary can request their bonuses from the BuyBono mobile application, available in the Play Store and Apple Store.
The mayor explained that in this edition more security measures have been implemented for access and use of consumer vouchers, including a verification code at the time of registration, to guarantee "that everything is done correctly." and safe manner.” Likewise, Toni Pérez has stated that for people with difficulty accessing electronically, the Benidorm City Council will enable an information and help service in the municipal Assembly Hall, from Monday to Friday and between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., as well as the email benidormtedamas@benidorm.org and the telephone number of the Department of Commerce -966815443- to resolve incidents or doubts.
Finally, the mayor indicated that a record number of participating establishments was reached in the 2022 Christmas campaign, with 678 participating establishments. However, everything indicates that this year "this record may be surpassed again."
Furthermore, in that same campaign, 45,530 registered citizens used the consumption vouchers, which represents 71.45% of the total, with the download of a total of 277,600 vouchers, of which 207,340 were exchanged. All of this represented an economic injection of 5,688,000 euros in local establishments.
Population increase
During his appearance before the media, the mayor of Benidorm also advanced another piece of information. And, in the absence of official confirmation on January 1, 2024, by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, on which the National Institute of Statistics (INE) depends, the city could once again break the barrier of 70,000 registered inhabitants.
The first mayor explained that the data managed by the Consistory indicate that in the last year, the municipal register has increased by just over 2,500 people, so the total registered population would be around 72,300 residents.
“We are a city that attracts residents and where many people of all ages and conditions come to live, contrary to what some voices predict,” defended Toni Pérez, who indicated that, if this forecast is confirmed, “we would be talking “magnificent news for our city.”
