The 28 people hired through the Empuju and Explus programs have finished their contract

Finalizan su servicio las 28 personas contratadas a través de los programas Empuju y Explus

The 28 people hired by Benidorm City Council through the Empuju and Explus employment programs ended yesterday their service in the different departments and municipal centers in which they have worked during the last twelve months. This was reported today by the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez, who recalled that "with both programs, we continue to create employment, convinced that creating jobs is the best social policy that can be promoted."

Gómez has stressed that "with both programs we have covered all age ranges, having hired 13 people under 30 years of age, with the Empuju, and another 15 from that age, with the Explus". Both programs, financed with resources from the European Social Fund through Labora and with municipal resources, have been developed along two lines: maintenance of public spaces and citizen service.

The Councilor for Employment has indicated that “the staff of both programs in the maintenance area have carried out multiple actions in public spaces such as the Parque de Foietes, where they have carried out the cleaning and conditioning of flower beds and paths; the Parque de la Séquia Mare, where they have been in charge of conditioning paths and the access booth to this green area; or the Paseo de Poniente, where they have replaced tiles that were damaged”. In addition, it has also been in charge of repairing the deteriorated pavement in children's areas, the placement of rubber in the tree pits of different streets and avenues, and painting works of street furniture throughout the city.

About the Explus and Empuju personnel in the user information and citizen service area, they have provided services in different administrative extensions, social centers, Casa del Fester, and municipal departments such as the Employment and Local Development Agency, register, management of citizen card or libraries, among others.

After detailing the functions and tasks of the people hired with both employment programs, the mayor of the area recalled that "a new edition of each of them will be launched shortly and 33 unemployed people of all ages will be hired for one year”.

Specifically, the City Council will incorporate 16 people under 30 years of age and 17 who are over that age.

Gómez indicated that "as we advance, in this new edition of Explus and Empuju the occupations that have been demanded are mainly referred to customer service and building maintenance." In addition, through Empuju, two senior technicians will also be hired for professional training in microcomputer systems-computer application programmers.

For the development of employment programs, the City Council has obtained two LABORA subsidies: 258,264.00 euros for Explus and 253,716.00 euros for Empuju, both financed through the European Social Fund. The municipal contribution will be about 300,000 euros.
