08. Monumental Trees
In the meeting of the Municipal Environment Council on February 15, 2006, the members proposed the cataloguing of trees and groves of local interest in the municipality of Benidorm.
For this reason and in compliance with Law 4/2006, of May 19, on monumental tree heritage, the Department of the Environment awarded the Institute of Coastal Ecology the work of Cataloging the trees and groves of local interest in the municipal area of Benidorm for an amount of 8,468 euros.
19 significant trees and groves have been located throughout the municipality of Benidorm:
Carob tree from the Lliriet ravine
Carob tree from the lliriet dels frares
Hackberry on the Paseo de la Mitja Llegua
Aracauurias of the avenue. Valencian Community (two missing)
Red eucalyptus from El Tossalet
Ficus of the Plaza de la Hispanidad
Mulberry tree from the mon bressol estate (Broke)
Almafrá elms
Palm hearts from Plaza de la Hispanidad
Stone Pine in the lliriet
Taray of the tamarind walk
yew of the avenue. Europe
Yuca on Avd. Europe and Plaza de España
Poplar of the Lliriet ravine
Murtal Ravine Pine Forest
Etc.
For each of the catalogued trees and/or groves, a technical sheet has been prepared that includes: the date of data collection; tree naming; location (UTM coordinates), ownership; description; technical data; study of the environment; status and diagnosis; conservation; protection and photographic annex.
