LGBTQ+ Safe Space
By Resolution of January 21, 2025, the General Directorate of Diversity, attached to the First Vice Presidency and the General Directorate of Diversity, approved the LGBTIQ+ PHOBIA-Free Space Protocol, intended to serve as a guide and allow the prevention and reporting of situations that imply rejection, fear, contempt, repudiation, prejudice, or discrimination against LGBTIQ+ people or their families. This Protocol values diversity in the Valencian Community and creates LGBTIQ+ PHOBIA-free spaces.
Furthermore, to enhance the visibility of support for this group, the General Directorate of Diversity has designed a badge highlighting the organisation's commitment to protecting their rights.
By resolution of the General Director of Diversity of the First Vice Presidency and Ministry of Social Services, Equality and Housing, issued in file number 2025/01/03, the Benidorm City Council is recognized, for meeting all the required requirements, as a LGTBIQ+FOBIA-free space in the Valencian Community and has been granted the LGTBIQ+FOBIA-Free Space distinction and is included in the public list of city councils of the Valencian Community that adhere to the protocol and obtain the seal that accredits it, which is published on the official website of the Ministry of Social Services, Equality and Housing.
