Benidorm is still committed to MICE tourism
Benidorm goes for the second year in a row to IMEX fair in Frankfurt, one of the main events in the international travel industry of MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) that takes place from Tuesday 21 and until Thursday 23 at the Frankfurt Messe exhibition center.
This fair of professional character has more than 3,500 international exhibitors and the presence of more than 10,000 professionals from the business travel sector is expected.
During the 3 days of the event, Benidorm will be present at Turespaña stand, along with Costa Blanca and the Valencian Agència del Turisme. Representatives of hotels with MICE offer in Benidorm such as Deloix hotel, the Meliá Villaitana and Grand Hotel Luxor and the local DMCs; Benidorm DMC and Benidorm Incentives will be present during the event in the meeting space of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana.
Visit Benidorm through the different meetings it has scheduled, will inform MICE travel agents from all over Europe its offer of congresses and the possibilities that the city can offer to the MICE tourist, emphasizing the complementary offer offered by the city and that this type of tourist so much demands.
The industry of meetings tourism and MICE continues to grow year after year, placing Spain as the fourth country in reception of business tourism during 2017.
In the case of Benidorm, during 2018 more than 150 business trips or incentives were carried out in which more than 40,000 MICE tourists participated. If we add to these data that Benidorm already has more than 2,300 beds focused solely on meeting clients, it is clear that Benidorm is a destination that is increasingly positioned in this product.
Benidorm has a wide range of complementary options for incentive trips, such as six theme parks, an extraordinary gastronomy and a wide range of leisure activities, both day and night, for all ages and publics.
Therefore, Visit Benidorm is aware that it must continue to bet on this product in order to continue to seasonally adapt the arrival of tourists to the city and increase the revenue share, since the MICE tourist is characterized by traveling during the low season (March - May and October - November) as for its high spending capacity.
