Barri del Calvari

Because of the demographic development in the XVIII century, the population started to occupy the area outside the wall, in the plain area. One of those areas that people will be occupying is this place known as El Calvari.

Its name is possibly due to that originally it was the location of the Via Crucis. The truth is that from here, this neighborhood starts growing bounded by Calvari Street, Paseo de la Carretera and La Palma and San Roque streets.
