The XXIX International Music Course brings together the best teachers and students in Benidorm
From Monday classes will be combined with free concerts and open to the general public
During a week Benidorm will gather at the XXIX International Music Course some of the best teachers of various specialties and high-level students from all over Spain. The Councilor for Culture, Ana Pellicer, has indicated that this International Music Course, which starts on Monday, July 3, "offers students the opportunity to learn from prestigious teachers, and the citizens of Benidorm to enjoy concerts and Single auditions ".
This edition focuses on four instrumental specialties: trombone, piano, oboe and cello. The classes of these specialties will be taught by Juan Carlos Matamoros, trombone soloist of the National Orchestra of Spain (OCNE); Ana Guijarro, professor of piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid; Vicent Llimera, professor of oboe at the Conservatory of Music of Valencia; And Michal Dmochowsky, assistant professor at the Reina Sofia High School of Music and cello teacher at the Conservatorio Jacinto Guerrero de Toledo.
Ricardo Llorca, a professor at The Juilliard School, Queen Sofia Spanish Institute in New York and composer in residence at the New York Opera Society, is a non-instrumental composer. '. The Councilor for Culture said that "for us it is a great satisfaction to be able to count among the staff of teachers with one of our most internationally recognized musicians, and to enjoy their mastership at home."
The course director, Pepe Fuster, has detailed that there are enrolled 50 students, 19 of them from Benidorm and have been scholarships by the City. Until Friday, July 7th, classes will be held in the morning and afternoon at the Conservatory of Music and the Hall of Acts of the City Hall.
Registered students will also be able to participate in the XIX Music Competition, which this year is dedicated to the trombone specialty. The winner of the contest will receive the Special Prize of the City Council: the inaugural concert of the International Course next year. In addition, there will be other prizes donated by the collaborating entities.
Every day, after the lessons, the Auditorium will host free concerts performed by teachers and students at 4.30 pm. The director of the Course has highlighted the inaugural concert that will be offered by the winner of the contest last year, the 16 year old pianist Mar Valor. Fuster has pointed out that the young woman "is giving some incredible recitals" and that "musical criticism highlights her projection and affirms that she will be one of the best pianists".
