Colla de Xirimiters de la Marina and the Grup de Danses Bellaguarda Tradicions de Altea offered a joint concert last night at Plaza de Castelar, within the 'Intercanvis Musicals' campaign of the Generalitat Valenciana that has the collaboration from the Department of Culture headed by Jaime Jesús Pérez.

The concert was divided into two parts. In the initial one, the dulzaina, (a musical instrument), was the protagonist; in the second, the dances. The public, among whom was the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, along with other members of the corporation and the regional deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate, has been able to enjoy pieces such as 'A Miquel Grau', by Al Tall with arrangements by Paco Bessó; 'Arrancapins', by Antonio de la Asunción; 'Jaume Doménech', by J. Agustín Arbona; 'Torna la festa', by Miguel Sanchis; 'Ventall obert', by Josep Basset; and 'A caure la mitjanit', by Antoni de la Asunción.

In the second part, also accompanied by the traditional 'xirimita', Bellaguarda Tradicions staged various Valencian dances such as 'Arquets de Corpus', 'Jota de carrer' from Ibi, 'Bolero Pla' from Xàtiva, 'Copeo de Ontinyent', 'Fandango de Ayora', 'Jota de Relleu' and, finally, 'Danses de la Marina'.
