Urban music in Oscar Esplá Auditorium on Friday in a free concert to bid farewell to summer
Benidorm's Traw and DJ Dada Visa will also perform
The Óscar Esplá auditorium in the Parque de l’Aigüera will be the stage for ‘The last concert of the summer’ this Friday, August 30, a free musical event organized jointly by the Culture and Youth departments of the Benidorm City Council and dedicated to urban music. The concert was presented this Tuesday by the councillors of both areas, Jaime Jesús Pérez and Ana Soliveres, and some of its protagonists. Among them, were the event organiser, Alfredo Perea; the artist from Benidorm Traw; and Enrique González, a member of the board of the Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge.
Jaime Jesús Pérez has highlighted the double purpose of this small-format festival: “On the one hand, we wanted to offer young people and the general public a different cultural and leisure proposal; and on the other, contribute to giving visibility to emerging artists from Benidorm who are beginning to stand out in the world of music.” The Councillor for Culture also emphasised that entry is free and will be used to help the Associació de Penyes, which will set up a bar with sandwiches and drinks at popular prices to raise funds for the Festes Majors Patronals.
For her part, the Councillor for Youth has invited “young people from Benidorm and neighbouring towns to come and enjoy this concert” and explained that it will take place “between eight in the evening and midnight, with different urban music proposals”.
‘The last concert of the summer’ will begin shortly before 8 pm, when the doors will open. The first to perform will be the young man from Benidorm, Adrián Fuster, known by the stage name Traw. Next, it will be the turn of the headliner, the Malaga-born El Virtual, while Dada Visa will close the event with a DJ session. Alfredo Perea has pointed out that the event is designed “as the closing that a good summer deserves, with the typical nostalgia of this time but with the desire to live the last party night of the holidays”.
During the presentation of the event, Traw explained that he will perform some of his already known songs, including ‘The Last Day of Summer’, which has served as inspiration for the name of the concert, as well as new songs that he will sing for the first time and another that has been released today on the main platforms.
In addition, he has announced that several guest artists will perform with him and has highlighted “the desire we had to do a concert here, in our city and with friends who are going to come from different places to accompany us”.
To conclude, the councillors for Culture and Youth have hoped that the concert will bring together “people from Benidorm, from the region and tourists, who will enjoy a concert that gives prominence to a style of music different from what has been done this summer and with three very interesting proposals to enjoy or discover”.
