The mayor of Benidorm this morning has attended the fifth Executive Committee of Spanish DTI Network, where it has been determined to approve the modification of the Network Regulations.

This is made up of 251 members, of which 154 are destinations and 40 are institutions, with 57 companies belonging to this network. SEGITTUR, the Spanish State Society dedicated to the Management of Innovation and Tourism Technologies, manages the Network.

This is an integrating element of the destinations, institutions and companies initiated in the DTI process of which Benidorm is the first certified DTI worldwide, since 2018. The network and its members add value to the development of DTI processes by promoting synergies and transfer of knowledge maximizing the benefits that are generated with the standard and the methodology followed. One of the purposes of the DTI Network is to facilitate the destination's process of becoming smart through advice, search for financing and technological solutions or strategies to operate said change.

The Regulation organizes the operation of the Network's management bodies: the Plenary Commission and the Executive Commission. The DTI Network Protocol orchestrates its functions and tasks, regulating even the Working Groups.

Benidorm joined the Smart Destinations project after the Diagnostic Report and the drafting and execution of the Action Plan for the transformation of Benidorm into a Smart Tourist Destination, carried out in October 2018. Benidorm smart office, a pioneering initiative in Spain in data collection and analysis became a key part of the process. Since then and maintaining a tradition inherent with the city of Benidorm, sustainability is the hallmark of all its projects, highlighting the urban resilience of Benidorm together with the sustainable management of water and the territory.
