Councilor Ana Soliveres congratulates the participants just days before the end of this course, which qualifies them to work in camps, summer schools, and school cafeterias

Thirty young people from Benidorm have trained as children's and youth educational leisure time instructors in a course organised by Benidorm City Council through the Department of Youth. This course qualifies them to work in recreational and educational activities with children and young people, such as camps, entertainment, vacation schools, school cafeterias, and more. The Councillor for Youth, Ana Soliveres, visited the participants during one of the training sessions, which took place at the José Llorca Linares Social Centre. She congratulated them "for their commitment to this training" and hoped that it "will allow them to continue learning and expanding their curriculum or help them find a job in this field of sociocultural animation."

The Children's and Youth Educational Leisure Time Instructor course began its training period on April 5th and will conclude on Saturday, June 14th, every Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. It consisted of a total of 150 teaching hours, of which 45 were online and 105 were in-person, plus 160 hours of practical training.

The course's general objectives included analysing the educational context of sociocultural animation, identifying the instructor and defining their role, learning how to design and program activities, providing resources and performance techniques, and training for the development of activities. All of this was achieved through a program whose contents included leisure-time educational activities (fundamentals, legislation, context, values, social participation, projects, methodology; project design and activity development; health and accident prevention; group and educational processes (personal development, integration, dynamics, and the role of the instructor); and animation techniques and resources (animation and creativity, workshops and activities, audiovisual media, dance, songs, evenings, games, environmental education, and camping).

Ana Soliveres emphasised that "this course generated a lot of interest among our young people from the very first day, filling the 30 places offered" and stated that "we have tried to offer all of them the best tools so that they can develop as instructors in the best possible conditions."
