Only the vehicles of the affected fords will be able to access
The stretch of Gerona Street between Filipinas and Cuenca will be cut off to traffic for three days due to the works in Mallorca street
The section of Gerona Street between Filipinas and Cuenca will be closed to traffic on May 3, 4 and 5 due to the remodeling works on Mallorca Street. While the cut lasts, only vehicles with a ford will be allowed access on the affected section. Thus, vehicles with fords on the section between Mallorca and Cuenca will have entry and exit to their garages from Gerona-Cuenca junction. For their part, the owners of fords in the next section will access their car parks from Gerona-Filipinas junction.
The councillor of Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that "this cut is necessary to facilitate and speed up the planned works as much as possible"; and he has asked "apologies" to the public "for the inconvenience that this action may cause."
De Zárate recalled that “the remodeling project for Mallorca street covers more than 300 meters of this road, in which all public services will be renewed, from the drinking water and rainwater networks, to the sewerage and lighting; as well as the urban scene ”.
