A firefighter, a local policeman, a national policeman and a civil guard will be the protagonists of the solidarity swim 'Challenge for you: Francisco and Daniel ", which will be held on Sunday 28 at Poniente Beach in Benidorm. Thanks to this initiative, organized with the collaboration of the Department of Sports and Brotons Group, two brothers, Francisco and Daniel, may have a crane chair that will facilitate their daily lives at home, since both suffer Menkes disease, a of the so-called rare diseases that affect their locomotor system.
The councillor of Sports, Arturo Cabrillo; the head of Brotons Group, Pepe Brotons; and three of the four swimmers have presented this morning the swimming crossing, which will depart on Saturday night from Postiguet Beach and which is scheduled to arrive at Poniente Beach at noon on Sunday, after traveling 40 kilometers carrying out relays of one time between the four swimmers.
Cabrillo encouraged all people of Benidorm to participate in the two solidary mini-crossings of 300 and 500 meters that will be played, without competitive character, in the same beach of Poniente during Sunday morning, since "the money of the collection will be shared between the associations Asmibe of Benidorm and Ahedysia de Villajoyosa.
Manuel Rufete, who has been the spokesman for the swimmers, stressed that "thanks to the sponsors we have already got enough money to buy that chair that Francisco and Daniel need," and explained that, therefore, all the money that is collected on Sunday morning will go to the aforementioned associations.
Pepe Brotons explained that during the morning there will be inflatables and games for children and has invited all citizens "to spend a solitary morning in Poniente beach and collaborate with a good cause".
