Social Welfare scholarship 100% of the attendance of 67 minors to AMPA Summer School
The Department of Social Welfare has granted 100% of the assistance of 67 minors to the Summer School organized by the Local Association of AMPAS and has the collaboration of this area and the Department of Education. The Councilor for Social Welfare, Angela Llorca, has indicated that they will contribute 35,750 euros to assume the assistance of these children, from families with severe material deprivation. Of that amount, 28,266.17 euros correspond to municipal funds, while for the remaining 7,483.83 euros a grant from the Conselleria de Igualdad y Políticas Inclusivas has been requested.
Llorca has indicated that "last year there were 53 children who benefited from these grants for attendance at the Summer School, which also includes the dining room service".
She explained that the Department of Social Welfare also supports "100% of assistance to the eight students with functional diversity who attend the Special Education classroom of the Summer School". The Department "subsidizes with 5,500 euros" this classroom, which for the fourth consecutive year is managed by Asmibe, which operates on the same schedule as the Summer School and has three monitors.
Llorca recalled that "in addition to full scholarship assistance for students with socio-economic difficulties, the City Hall also partially grants to the rest of children who participate in this activity and who are registered in Benidorm, which is subsidized up to half the cost of the School of summer". For this, the Department of Education, which runs Maite Moreno, has reserved 15,000 euros, which brings to a total of 43,266.17 euros municipal contribution through both departments.
