The Smart Office of Benidorm City Council teaches a practical application course of SDGs to the companies adhered to SICTED

05 February 2020
La Smart Office del Ayuntamiento de Benidorm imparte un curso de aplicación práctica de los ODS a las empresas adheridas al SICTED

The coordinator of DTI of Benidorm City Council, Celia Romero, and staff of the team attached to the Smart Office and the Municipal Tourism department have offered a course today to SICTED Improvement Group focused on the practical application of the SDGs,  (Objectives of Sustainable Development) to Tourism and all its areas.

This work session of the Improvement Group is part of the mandatory part of training for companies adhering to SICTED project developed by the City Council to improve the quality of tourist destinations and has focused on the exposure and applicability of the 17 SDGs with its 169 goals of an integrated and indivisible character, covering the economic, social and environmental spheres of Tourism.

Representatives of 74 companies integrated into the aforementioned group have attended the work meeting to complete the four SICTED cycles: attention, accelerated distinction, renewal and monitoring.

In 2015, the UN approved the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which has 17 Objectives that pursue both the sustainability of actions for the protection of the planet and ensuring prosperity for all as part of a new future development agenda, where Tourism has many interactions and matching goals. Benidorm City Council is firmly and decisively involved in the maximum application of these 17 objectives to its five development axes that emanate from the DTI Master Plan, involving citizenship and socio-economic activities in the process.
