Seven Benidorm students with special needs have enjoyed summer school thanks to a municipal grant

The City Council has invested 12,600 euros to cover the cost of the service
Seven students from Benidorm with severe specific needs were able to enjoy a fully tailored summer school during the months of July and August thanks to the subsidy that Benidorm City Council has awarded to families for the first time to fully cover this service. The objective was to ensure that these students "could be in the most appropriate environment to address their educational difficulties" and, in turn, "to facilitate family work-life balance during the school holidays, which is often even more complicated in homes with a child who requires very specific attention," as explained by the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno.
The service was provided at El Secanet public special education school, located in the neighbouring town of La Vila Joiosa, where these students are enrolled and attend for the remainder of the year. The end-of-year party took place on Thursday, attended by the Councillors for Education and Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí, to accompany the Benidorm residents who participated.
The City Council has invested €12,600 to fund this service, which included five instructors and, as Moreno noted, "was offered through the Parents' Association (AMPA) to all Benidorm families with children enrolled at El Secanet."
Likewise, both this councilor and the person in charge of Social Welfare have recalled that the ordinary Summer School, organized by FAMPA Marina Baixa in collaboration with the City Council and held this year at the Miguel Hernández public preschool and primary school, has once again offered places for students with special needs enrolled in ordinary schools and has also had two full integration classrooms this summer, with 100% subsidized attendance for a total of 25 students.
