The second edition of Grandes Recitales cycle congregates in Benidorm soloists of international prestige

28 September 2017
La segunda edición del ciclo Grandes Recitales congrega en Benidorm a solistas de prestigio internacional

Four concerts in the Assembly Hall and master classes for students of the Conservatory and musicians of the local bands

October is again the month chosen by the Department of Culture to launch its Cycle of Great Recitals that celebrates its second edition this year. Ana Pellicer, deputy councilor of the area, together with the director of the Municipal Professional Conservatory of Music 'José Pérez Barceló', José Miguel Mollá, presented this morning a program that will gather in Benidorm virtuosos of cello, piano, classical guitar, clarinet and trombone .

It is "a selection of the best of classical music nationally and internationally," said Pellicer, concerts "of excellent quality" and stressed that whoever wants to attend will have "to come with time" because the last year the capacity was almost complete and the seats are limited to the capacity of the Hall of Acts.

The Councilor for Culture also recalled that the closure of the cycle, as in the last edition, will be "in charge of a musician from Benidorm. In this case, the instrument is the trombone and the musician is José Ángel Isla, "a professional with an excellent curriculum that currently" forms part, "underlined Pellicer of the Paris Orchestra, where he teaches, as an assistant professor, in his Conservatory of Music.

Finally, the head of Culture has announced that each of these concerts will be accompanied by a master class directed the students of the Conservatory. "A detail," said Ana Pellicer, "that each of the musicians have with our young people who can learn from the hands of the greatest and that is open to the musicians of the three bands of the city." Regarding this last one, José Miguel Mollá has specified that if some places in some masterclass were left free, they will open to musicians of other bands of the region that receive class in the Conservatory. Mollá also referred to the professional career of José Ángel Isla as "an example of our students" to tell the people of Benidorm that "through the studio can be promoted and succeed in the world of music."

All sessions will be on Friday, in the Hall of Acts of the City Hall, at 20.00. The first concert will take place on October 6 with the performance of the cellist Georgina Sánchez with the pianist Krzysztof Styputkowski; the second will be on the 13th, with Hugo Geller and his classical guitar; the third will take place on the 20th, in which Víctor Díaz Guerra will play the clarinet and José María Villegas, on piano. The second Cycle of Great Concerts will come to an end on October 27th with the trombonist of Benidorm José Ángel Isla and, once again, José María Villegas.
