As highlighted, "from minute one this City Council offered to coordinate and channel the wave of citizen solidarity that emerged as an immediate response to the pandemic, as well as to make available to its neighbors all possible help so that all the population have their basic needs covered ”.

Through this initiative focused on guaranteeing food resources, more than 900 batches of semi-perishable products have been supplied weekly complemented by menus and dishes prepared by collaborating establishments. These lots have served the population with specific and / or continuous needs.

Toni Pérez stressed that “in the most complicated moments of this crisis, the business community has also displayed its solidarity by collaborating with the City Council and Cáritas in caring for the people who need it most, either by providing menus, as various establishments have done of restoration, or by donating food to incorporate into the lots that have been periodically delivered to the families that have requested it ”. "Even now, when the advance of the restrictiotns lifting plan has made it possible for restaurant to open, the establishments that have participated in this initiative in previous moments maintain this collaboration, combining it with their daily activities," he added.

Food delivery has been centralized twice a week at five points attended by #RAC volunteers and by Cáritas, and distributed in all the neighborhoods of the city: Calle Escuelas, Avenida Europa, José Llorca Linares social center, the municipal branch in La Cala and Pepita Puchades center. At these points, people who reported their situation to the #RAC or the municipal Social Services, as well as users of Caritas of the different parishes and the Evangelical Church have been attended.

Aside from the food provided in a coordinated manner by the #RAC and Cáritas, “since the beginning of April the City Council has been developing 'Menjadors a casa' program, which weekly it serves nearly 1,000 schoolchildren in Benidorm who have dining for grant ”.
