The City Council has responded to the requests of the management teams of Puig Campana, Gabriel Miró and Ausiàs March schools, and Les Fontanelles municipal nursery school
Public Space adapts the entrances of four schools to ensure the safety distance at the entrances
Benidorm City Council has adapted the pedestrian accesses of four schools in the city to ensure compliance with the safety distances at the entrances and exits of students. The Councilor for Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that "all educational centers in Benidorm have carried out a study of the entrances and exits of their facilities to comply with the prevention protocols for Covid-19."
As a result of these studies, "the management teams of four centers have asked us to carry out actions to ensure compliance with the safety distance at the time of entry and exit from the facilities both among minors and parents." To do this, "we have increased the size of the existing entrances or we have generated new ones, thus separating the entrance of Infant and Primary students so that it is carried out at two different points".
De Zárate has detailed that these actions have been carried out in recent days at Puig Campana, Gabriel Miró and Ausiàs March schools, and at Les Fontanelles municipal nursery school.
Specifically, in CEIP Puig Campana the size of the overflowing door on Italia Street has doubled, from 80 centimeters to 1.60 meters and will be installed next week; while in the Gabriel Miró and Ausiàs March a new entrance door has been created for Infant students, which directly accesses the area where the classrooms and patios of this cycle are located. Finally, a direct access to the Les Fontanelles nursery school has been opened from the parking lot made by the City Council to serve Els Tolls school complex, so that part of the students access through the main door and another through this new door rear.
The person in charge of Public Space recalled that "apart from these latest actions, Benidorm City Council has invested nearly 400,000 euros in the development of educational centers for the 2020/2021 school year, which it has demanded from the centers and from the local administration an additional effort to guarantee the adaptation of the facilities to the health and organizational prevention protocols against Covid-19 transferred by the Ministry ”.
