The plenary will finally approve the 2019 budget on Thursday

02 September 2019
El pleno aprobará el jueves definitivamente el presupuesto de 2019

The full of the Corporation of Benidorm will definitely approve next Thursday, September 5, in extraordinary session, the municipal budget of 2019. The councillor of Treasury, Aida García Mayor, recalled that the budget amounts to 107,417,334.72 euros and provides for the early cancellation of the Adjustment Plan on December 31, instead of in 2023. García Mayor has detailed that the Investment item of the budget, initially approved at the end of July, amounts to 15.4 million, of which 9 , 9 million will be directly contributed by the City Council.

Among the works included are some currently in progress such as the remodeling of Avenida del Mediterráneo and l'Ametlla del Mar, the archaeological interventions in El Castell and El Tossal, or the Universal Accessibility project. To these are added, among others, the remodeling of Polop Street; the recovery and enhancement of Torre de Morales; the promotion of a 2019 Asphalt Plan; the increase and improvement of the provisions of the Local Police with the acquisition of a new transmission system; the waterproofing of the roof of Raúl Mesa pavilion; or the conclusion of the locker rooms of Antonio López sports area.

The councillor has also pointed out that the accounts for 2019 allocate 553,000 euros to the Participatory Budget, with which the actions proposed by the citizens through the Neighborhood Council will be executed.

García Mayor explained that “during the period of public exposure 25 claims have been submitted to the municipal budget, all of them referring to the Valuation of Jobs, so, based on technical reports, they are dismissed as they do not fit to the cases foreseen by the legislation ”.

In the same plenary session, the councilors will vote to request the Ministry of Education, Culture and Culture to readjust the annuities provided for in the ‘Edificant Plan’ for the construction of the multipurpose pavilion of Leonor Canalejas public school. As stated in the proposal of the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, ruled today in an information commission, “the programming of the execution of the pavilion project has suffered a significant delay due to a resource presented by the Territorial College of Architects of Alicante ”, which makes it impossible to invest in the project the total amount planned for 2019.
