The plenary of the corporation has unanimously approved the signing of an agreement with Finestrat City Council to treat part of the water that the neighboring municipality receives from the Consorcio de Aguas de la Marina Baixa in the two water treatment plants in Benidorm. In this way, the flows destined to supply La Cala de Finestrat, the commercial and industrial zone and the urbanizations of the surroundings of Sierra Cortina will receive a treatment in a moment in which they present high levels of turbidity like those registered after the last two episodes of heavy rains.

The councilor of Water, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that this agreement is an example of "solidarity and collaboration between municipalities" in water, in which "Benidorm has always been a benchmark and we want to continue being." According to the mayor, the request made by Finestrat City Council "values ​​our water infrastructures", and has clarified that at the moment the neighboring municipality is the only one that "has viability" to resort to the water treatment plants in Benidorm thanks to an investment carried out by Diputación Provincial de Alicante and that will allow to connect its distribution network to the one of the city.

By an amendment of Compromis, which has prospered by a majority, before signing the agreement will be submitted to the consideration and consensus of the Study Group for Integral Water Management. De Zárate said that in view of this amendment, "this commission will be convened today" in order to be able to implement the agreement as soon as possible, stating that Finestrat will receive this water treatment as one more user and will pay based on the volume of water treaty.

On the other hand, the corporation has agreed by majority to ask the Ministry of Housing and Public Works to assign the ownership and management of the section of the CV-70 road that passes through Benidorm for conversion into urban, which would have a series of advantages from the urban, environmental, mobility and infrastructure integration point of view, among others. It will also enable the implementation and passage of infrastructures such as natural gas, broadband or the improvement of other services such as sewerage and drinking water.

The mayor has accepted the free transfer to the City Council of the mural located at the entrance of the old hotel Selomar made by the property of the establishment located in the first line of Levante Beach, where work is currently being carried out to repair the facade. The motion of the councilor for Historic Heritage, Ana Pellicer, proposes the incorporation of this frieze in the inventory of Municipal Heritage and also - by an amendment of Compromís-Los Verdes - to the Municipal Catalog of Goods.

Motions of the opposition

The motion states that if the study is favorable, expedite the procedures so that the concession is made before summer.

Related to sport and by majority, another motion of Cs has prospered so that in the conventions of the City Council ensure health care in sports competitions that are developed at weekends in the municipal facilities of the Palau d'Esports, sports center Guillermo Amor And Antonio López football fields.

A motion by LiBE, amended by Cs, has been issued by a majority, so that within two months the adjudication of the contract for parks and gardens will be resolved; while unanimously the corporation has endorsed the second part of the motion asking that all green areas and gardens be refurbished, replenishing the lost vegetation, to improve its image.

The councilors unanimously approved a motion by Compromis-Los Verdes, as amended by the PP, to urge the Government of Spain to ratify and comply with all the precepts of the revised version of the European Social Charter, ensuring that each family unit has an income Above the poverty line.

Of the same group has prospered by majority another motion to fix the asphalting of the avenue Villajoyosa, performance that is already in the process of bidding in a contract that also includes the asphalting of the section of the Mediterráneo avenue that runs between the avenues Europe and Atmella of the Sea .

It has also been approved a motion presented by Compromís- Los Verdes with the vote of the 25 councilors by which the City Council will take necessary and urgent measures with the purpose of eradicating the insecurity and the insalubridad in the Plaça de l'Infant, increasing the police control and cleaning, and replenishing broken playgrounds.
