07 November 2021
Concierto SM La Nova Semana Cultural FMP 2021

The program of the Cultural Week continues today with the concerts by Unión Musical and the Rondalla of the ARC La Barqueta

Pasodobles and arrangements for a band of themes of pop, Latin music and even disco was the proposal of  Societat Musical La Nova for their concert within the Cultural Week of the Festes Majors Patronals, which was held yesterday at the Julio Iglesias auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera under the direction of Francisco José Rovira Peretó. A concert attended by, among others, the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councilors of Culture and Festivities, Jaime Jesús Pérez and Jesús Carrobles; members of the Corporation; the Major and Infant Queens, Paula Pérez and Sofía Fuster; the president of the Commission, Batiste Rostoll; and his counterpart from l’Associació de Penyes, Adrián Romero.
With a very festive and varied repertoire, La Nova yesterday performed pasodobles such as "Andrés Teuler" or "Reina de Fiestas 1960"; and versions or arrangements for bands of such well-known songs as 'No puedo quitar los ojos de ti', 'Mediterrània' by La Fumiga or the merengue 'Esclavo de tu amor', to which was added, among others, a mix of the best hits from The Village People.
Outside of the program, the band premiered the pasodoble ‘Batiste Rostoll’, composed by ‘mestre’ Rovira Peretó and dedicated to the president of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals, which received the score from the author.
At the end of the concert, the pasodoble ‘Fiesta en Benidorm’ by Rafael Doménech Pardo, the official anthem of the Festes Majors Patronals, sounded.
The Cultural Week programming continues this Sunday, at 5.30 pm in the same Julio Iglesias auditorium with a concert by the Musical Union. Later, at 8:00 p.m., the Rondalla of La Barqueta Cultural and Recreational Association will offer a recital of Pols i Pua in the church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna.
